2023 WESTERN TRIP
Rides in Arkansas
Base Camp: Buffalo Point Campground — Highway 14 South, Yellville, Arkansas
After leaving my base camp at McPhee Recreation Complex near Cortez, Colorado, I traveled to Amarillo, Texas, where I spent the night in a Walmart parking lot. The next morning I was off to Oklahoma City and spent a couple of days visiting my sister-in-law, whom I had not seen very much since my older brother passed.
From Oklahoma City I drove over to the Buffalo National River and set up another base camp for a few nights at Buffalo Point Campground. It was a nice, laid-back area with plenty to do for the outdoor enthusiast and a great location for a motorcycle base camp. My plan was to take a couple of rides around this beautiful area before heading back to Lakeland, Florida.
